AIM has protected good people doing good things for over 30 years now. We have become well known for insuring PTAs, PTOs and Booster Clubs; however, the first things teachers should know is that we also provide coverage for the backbone of every school, individual educators.
Why Do I As An Educator Need Insurance?
Many professions require you to have liability insurance. Doctors and lawyers wouldn’t think twice about practicing without coverage and neither should educators like yourself. Teachers have everyday interactions with dozens of students. As an educator or administrator, your risk for allegations of wrongful acts increases daily. If a claim is brought against you, the costs could be detrimental.
That’s why AIM offers you Educator’s Professional Liability options that are tailored to your needs, safeguarding your personal assets. At AIM we provide you with protection against issues such as constitutional violation, non-compliance with ADA guidelines, sexual misconduct and much more.
Doesn’t My School Provide Insurance?
Many school districts offer their educators insurance, however, it may have hazardous limitations. There are some situations that your school can’t or won’t defend you in. For example, if you are wrongfully terminated, your school district’s insurance will end and will not cover the legal fees if you choose to take the issue to court.
AIM wants to help as many educators as possible. Our Educator’s Professional Liability covers most full-time employees of the public school systems, including teachers (substitute, visiting or intern teachers), professors, administrators, interpreters, band/choral directors, coaches, curriculum directors, department heads or chairs, librarians, principals, assistant principals, superintendents or associate or assistant superintendents, educational aides, and other professional service providers.
What Does AIM Cover?
A few of the highlights of The Educators Professional Liability policy are:
- Errors and Omissions Policy Limit: $1,000,000 per occurrence (including attorney fees)
- Attorney Fees Reimbursement (reimbursement based upon actions): $5,000 (This includes fees reimbursement in connection with wrongful termination.)
